How to Upgrade Your Clippership Carrier Update

These instructions are applicable to customers upgrading their Clippership 15.2.00 compliance update. Install this upgrade at the beginning of a shipping day before processing any shipments (but after transmitting any pending EDI files from previous days).

Read the entire set of instructions before performing the upgrade.

You do not have to wait until Jan. 22, 2012 to perform this upgrade. For a complete list of changes, please see the “What’s New” section in Clippership's Help. You must restart Clippership before using it on Jan. 22, 2012. You should always make a backup of the CSWIN folder before updating.

NOTE:   You can verify where your Clippership is installed and will be updated:

In Windows, Click on Start/Run.

Type Win.ini and click on Run. It will launch the WIN.INI file.               

Look for the cswin= line. This will tell you the path to where Clippership is installed.

Upgrade Procedure:


To download Clippership from our FTP site, click the following link: You will be prompted for a username and password. The username is “psicust” and the password is “Clippership”.

  • Click on the Clippership_v150200_USPS_2012_Rate_Update.exe file. The file download dialog box will appear.  Click on the Save button and save Clippership to your computer. 
  • Navigate to the folder where the download was saved and run the Clippership_v150200_USPS_2012_Rate_Update.exe. The WinZip Self-Extractor – Clippership_v150200_USPS_2012_Rate_Update.exe dialog will be displayed.
  • Select the Setup button. The Welcome to the Clippership setup dialog box appears on the screen.
  • Click Next.  The Choose Destination Location dialog box appears on the screen.
  • To upgrade Clippership in the default folder, click NextIt is NOT recommended to change this location with the Browse button when performing an upgrade. Clippership will install to where it was last run.
  • To automatically upgrade Clippership with all of its components (recommended), make sure that the Automatic update of Clippership option is selected then click Next.
  • The Setup Status dialog box appears showing the old files are being backed up.  After the backup routine completes, the Backup Information dialog box appears listing the files that were backed up to an Old directory.  Click Next to continue the installation.  The Setup Status dialog box appears showing the installation of the new files. Once complete, the Update Complete dialog box appears.
  • To complete and exit the upgrade, click Finish.  

If your license file is expired or about to expire or is not found, a message appears with instructions to import a new license file. See the License File Installation Instructions that you received with your new license file for details.
